Hello everyone, My name is Samantha Durrant. I am the daughter of Yolanda and stepdaughter of Robert ‘Bob’ Romanowski. On the evening of March 12th, my mom and Robert lost their home to a house fire. To start, they are both unharmed, thank you God.

I don’t have any current info of physical help anyone can be at this time, however, they need assistance until the investigation is complete and insurance kicks in. They have been put into a hotel for the time being and have a place to stay.

Now, if anyone knows my mom, this is her absolute worst fear come to life. She is the queen of sentimental value. This is a devastating loss with generations of heirlooms, including my Opa (her father’s) collection of paintings, so many pictures and scrapbooks, and numerous worldly treasures and trinkets passed down from around the globe. Robert had hundreds of record albums and every Sports Illustrated magazine since his childhood to pass down to his grandsons. Those are the hard losses. Those are things you can never get back out of this.

There are 5 of us kids in this extended family with 5 husbands/wives and 9 grandchildren. We all used this house as a gathering place. That was always Yolanda and Robert’s idea. Sleepovers, coming and hanging out, watching the game, playing in the 630 1/2 street house fort under the stairs, hosting Christmas and birthdays… We are all at a loss here.
