Hey, it’s Karla, aka Karla with a K.
Quick summary: Genetics did not deal me the best hand with my joints so, both my hips and knees will be getting total replacements. I’ve already had the right hip done at 32 and now at 35 the right knee is getting done May 14th, 2024 and following that the left hip with be next date tbd.
As I’m currently bartending now I’ll be out of work for a while, I’m still actively looking for a remote job that could work with my surgery and physical therapy schedule. For these types of surgeries, especially at a young age, moving every hour, at home exercises about 3x a day and then 2-3 in person PT sessions a week. Any donations will be used to cover rent and monthly bills while I’m out of work.
( Also if you’d prefer to V**mo it’s…
Karla-LaRock )
At first I thought it would be best to have a friend set this up for me, but I’d rather speak honestly and from my heart.
We all go through hard times and the hardest part of those times is to remember we’re not alone, whatever the aliment be, and to be kind to ourselves.
I want to first thank everyone who has been there for me through the past years of not knowing what my “dead bones” and joint replacement timeline would be. I can’t say enough of how much it means to me for just listening to me vent and reassuring me things will work out.
As for timing, time does what it wants, but I finally have a timeline to get these surgeries done. That starts May 14th, 2024 with a total right knee replacement, eventually followed by a total left hip replacement. I totally want to be the badass I am and get through these surgeries to add a layer of enjoyment and less pain to my life.
Also for timing, there’s some other major changes happening that play a major role in my living situation and work life. (my shifts will be covered by great people tho, it’s a Puddler’s Promise)
I’ll be out of work for a while, and to focus on my recovery which will be a priority (I’m hoping to do one and done with these)and will take up a large chuck of time physically and mentally, it would be great to lessen the financial burden that is unavoidable.
If you are able and willing any bit will help move this process along smoother for me.
I already greatly appreciate the support I have and know I will receive whether financial, a kind ear, a ride or encouragement.
I love you all.
