Hi, my name is Barbara. First, I'd like to say this is very difficult to have to do. My husband William (Sunny) is diabetic and has had multiple surgeries on his foot due to it getting infected. In the last 8 years, he has had at least 10 surgeries to clean out the infection. We have had to miss several family functions with him being hospitalized. Recently, he got very sick and was in bed for 2 days. He was scheduled to see his podiatrist on Tuesday, 11-4. He went in and with one look, the doctor said he needed to go to the nearest hospital. An ambulance was called and he went. Wednesday morning, he had surgery to get the infection removed. That night, they did an MRI to see how far the infection was and if it reached the bone. Unfortunately, it hit the bone this time. Sunday, 11-9, he was scheduled for one more surgery; this time, he had 6 inches below the knee amputated. Our lives are forever changed. Myself and his family have been by his side every day. My job is holding my position, but I'm not getting paid. Doctors are saying I will be out a while to care for him. There are a lot of appointments coming up. We were already in the process of getting a house to make his life easier; we currently live on the 2nd floor of apartments. Not working and getting paid, we have gone through what we had saved for the house to move in. I have paid for copays for the hospital and now the skilled facility, gas, and food. We still have medical equipment to buy. Thank you, anything will help.
