Hi everyone,
Early Friday morning, my mom Wendy suffered a deep brain bleed that caused a stroke. She was rushed to Milford Hospital and then transferred to Tufts Medical Center in Boston, where she underwent emergency brain surgery to stop the bleeding. The surgery went well, and she’s been sedated since—her fight is just beginning.
I’ve been living in Pittsburgh, but I drove through the night to be here with my family. Since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to help—coordinating care, supporting my dad and sister, and trying to navigate this overwhelming situation. My dad has been driving back and forth to Boston every day to sit by my mom’s side, and the emotional and financial toll is growing fast.
Anyone who knows my mom knows how deeply she loves her family. She’s the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need. She’s a huge part of her grandkids’ lives—whether she’s babysitting, cheering at Chace’s hockey games, or supporting Lily and Poppy at cheerleading. Her absence is felt in every corner of our lives.
Right now, my parents have little to no income coming in. My mom can’t work, and we’re facing not only travel and food costs, but also household bills and what will likely be a long-term inpatient rehab process once she wakes up.
I’ve started this fundraiser to help ease some of the financial burden and give my dad the support he needs to stay close to her during this critical time. Any donation—no matter the size—makes a real difference. And if you’re not able to give, sharing this page would mean the world to us.
Thank you for your love, your prayers, and your support.
