My name is Jerry Beck and I'm trying to raise funds for my fellow colleague who works with me at Prestige/Brown’s Medical Imaging here in the Philadelphia area. He was diagnosed with two masses on his left kidney, most compatible with renal carcinoma, cancer of the kidney. Because of the size and location of the masses, the kidney will have to be removed. Additional testing has ruled out any spread of cancer at this time, although masses on his pancreas and liver will need to be tracked with additional imaging every six months to a year for the foreseeable future.

Wayne's surgery is scheduled for December 5th next month and his recovery time is going to be 4-6 weeks

After his surgery, my friend will become my recovery caregiver. This will present many challenges as I was the one to do anything where public contact was necessary. In addition to co-payments for testing, hospitalization, and surgery, just getting groceries and transportation to follow up with doctors’ visits and the cost of those visits will add up quickly.

Thank you for your support. Please provide your thoughts and prayers for a positive outcome and a full recovery.

Anything helps, not asking for a lot; anything little goes a long way. Wayne is part-time and currently does not have health care from his current employer since he does not meet the proper amount of hours for benefits.

Just a little bit about my friend and coworker:

Wayne Trapp
Age 70
Air Force Veteran 1976 to 1980
Divorced, father of one son and grandfather of two grandchildren.
40 years in medical equipment maintenance.
I retired in 2023 to help support an out-of-work friend who is severely immune-compromised and cannot participate in the normal activities of life. Therefore, I do as much as I can to support her needs and help her through this life. After a year of searching, she has yet to find a job that she can do from home. Recently, we adopted a rescue dog to keep my friend company and be her constant companion. I do all I can to support them both.
Due to the cost of living, I returned to work part-time in 2025.
In October of this year, I got an opportunity to move into a new rental home that will help stabilize my housing expenses. During the most physical part of this move, I noticed blood in my urine. Initially, I didn’t think much of it until I also started seeing clots. After a trip to the ER, a visit with a urologist, and a CT scan, I was diagnosed with two masses on my left kidney, which brings us to today.

Thank you for helping Wayne. The money that comes in will help support the following items:
Groceries
Medical Bills
Transportation to Rehabilitation
Rent
