Greetings!

I, Katerina of Washington state, am fundraising to transfer to help my friend Waeed, aged 20 years old, and her family survive and hopefully get out of Gaza, Palestine. We are friends, so the last year's events that have devastated the people and region have hastened helping. She is a bright, caring, young medical student with nothing wanted but to help others, help her family, and help cats.

(Another person running their fundraiser recently canceled it without reason, which compounds the stress they are all currently under.)

Their family consists of 10 members: a mother, a father, 6 girls, and a young boy, two of whom lost their university studies due to no more universities in the region from the ongoing onslaught.

It is not an easy thing to decide to try to emigrate to Egypt, but when faced with this entire situation, it was affirmed for them. Daily life is uncertain with basic needs: shelter, food, water, safety. It compounds trauma as well as PTSD moving past it.

With them is a girl who is dependent on a wheelchair and is not suited to the atmosphere of tents and displacement. She requires more care for basic and medical needs.

They have lost many friends, neighbors, and family members. They have lost their grandfather’s house, which was their only home that they have known.

This fundraiser is to secure funds for emigrating to Egypt after the border opens, continued daily needs, as well as help while establishing.

I do this just to try to make a positive change to someone whom I firmly call a friend.
