Hi! I am trying to raise funds for my daughter Trisha. She has recently been hospitalized unexpectedly for a severe life-threatening infection.
Who she is: Trisha is a newlywed, 26-year-old foster mother and pet momma. She and her husband took in a teenage boy and will continue to raise him unconditionally for the rest of his life! Their goal has been to foster more children who are in need and also have their own children. Trisha also has 2 adorable dogs and 3 cats! As you can see, she and her husband have a heart of giving. Trisha typically works full-time (at least) as a general manager of a Petco. All of this came to a screeching halt, however.
Over the past 6 weeks, Trisha became very sick, running fevers up to 104! In the beginning, she went to a walk-in clinic twice and both times was given antibiotics and sent home. On the last day of the second dose of antibiotics, she came home early (highly unlike her) and her husband promptly brought her to the ER. After having several scans and tests, the on-call OB rushed in, telling her she has a life-threatening pelvic infection and her IUD had migrated. They promptly removed it and admitted her to the hospital. The cultures were not clear on what type of infection Trisha had, so they had to give her an array of antibiotics. Trisha had multiple large pockets of fluid in her tummy, one of which was 10 CM and another was 7 CM in size! They then put drains through her stomach to help drain the infection. At first, it was 2 drains, and then it was 4. The antibiotics were so harsh on her poor veins that they were running out of places to take blood because they were so damaged. So then they decided to put a PICC line in. A PICC line is a more permanent IV that is placed directly into her main artery. Because of the severity of all the damage from numerous IVs, she developed blood clots in her left arm.
There are a lot of unknowns still, like how much damage there is in her reproductive organs and if she will ever be able to have children.
Because of this unexpected medical emergency, obviously, Trisha is unable to work and we do not know for how long yet! Her medical bills are racking up! Her blood thinner alone for her blood clots is a $900 medication! With her husband carrying the weight of not only these medical bills but also their normal bills, they are falling on tough times. I have shared with my daughter and son-in-law that sometimes it takes a village to get through tough times. I am asking our village to please consider donating to help this young, giving couple during their tough time! I have set the amount low so that they will be sure to receive the funds. However, I would love to see it exceed the limit I posted if possible! Please consider sharing their story and pleading with your village to also help this beautiful young couple during their hard time.
I truly appreciate each person who helps, every dollar will help!
