Trenton, the 19-year-old son of my best friend in the world growing up, is suffering from transverse myelitis. Transverse myelitis is a rare neurological condition which is inflammation of the spinal cord, the part of the nervous system that sends messages from the brain to the nerves and also the sensory information back to the brain. He is currently paralyzed from the chest down and undergoing various treatments and rehab to hopefully reverse the paralysis.

Medical insurance only goes so far, the bills are mounting up, and this is just the beginning for this beautiful family. They don't know how long treatments, rehab and medication will need to continue.
