Aid Tommy Luke's Healing Journey
Donation protected
Tommy Luke started out playing songs at long gone Fort Worth venues like The
Wherehouse and The Celler more than a decade ago and became noticeable as a
stage performer. He’s played local and out of state stages in Nashville and across the
country and recently shared a stage with Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst at Dos XX Pavillion a few months ago.
While hosting an open mic night in Fort Worth he experienced unexpected
seizures. Unfortunately, another episode of seizures put him in the hospital for several
days and he was also treated for a stroke, his big sister Callie Dee said. His status has improved and has progressed positively. As of October 25th, Luke is now out of the hospital and home with family and friends in Fort Worth. What is to be presumed as a head injury from a roofing accident fall in 2017 could have caused these most recent seizures and stroke.
Social media friends were alerted to Luke’s condition and have sent prayers,
virtual well wishes and good healing vibes. Medical expenses might be a bit too much
for Luke and well wishes from close friends and family visits are appreciated. He’s resting and getting good care as of now and we’re all looking forward to seeing him back on stage soon.
Here are a few words from his friends giving their well wishes.
“Luke is a true-to-himself artist in a world of copycats. He's got his own compass for folk music or country blues or whatever you want to call it. He's going to keep following it no matter what anyone else thinks. I admire that. I like that he's taken
to cultivating songwriter nights. I admire that, too. He's been giving back to the garden. I'm grateful that he was able to get to JPS safely. We need him in Ft Worth.” -Burton Lee (bandmate)
“Tommy Luke was one of the first musicians I started listening to from Fort Worth. Pretty much right off the bat, I knew something was special about him as an artist, and something kindred about his spirit. When he first got his brain injury in 2018, I couldn’t have been more devastated to see my friend in such a bad way. When he was able to recover and sing again, I was so grateful that he could continue to do what he loves.
Not to mention, he’s the best whistler you might ever meet. If you can, please support this special human.”
-KXT’s Jessica Waffles
“I met Luke for the first time at one of his house concerts at Sally’s years ago. I
fell in love with his sound and quickly became a huge fan of his wit and sense of humor”

"Luke is a top-notch performer and songwriter and he is one of the best friends
I've ever known" -Denver Williams
