Aid to Rebuild Xochitl's Family Life After Eaton Fire
Donation protected
Hello everyone, I am Xochitl,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support as my family and I face the devastating aftermath of the Eaton Fires. On the morning of January 8th, my son and I received an urgent evacuation notice and, without time to grab anything, were forced to leave our home in Altadena—a place we had lived in for over 20 years. Tragically, we lost everything, including irreplaceable personal items and cherished memories. This home was everything to us. After becoming widowed over 15 years ago I worked 3 jobs at a time to maintain a roof over my son and I. My son is also devastated by this loss as he grew up here since the age of 5 and our house held all the memories he ever had with his dad. My son Daniel served as a U.S. Marine for 8 years and recently returned home after his active service. We are now left to start from scratch.
While my son and I are incredibly grateful to be safe and currently staying with a relative, we are left with only the clothes on our backs. As we navigate this overwhelming challenge, we humbly ask for your assistance. Any donation, no matter how small, will help us meet the needs that may not be covered by other sources of aid.
Your prayers, support, and kindness mean the world to us during this difficult time. Thank you to everyone who keeps us in your thoughts as we begin this long road to recovery.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Xochitl Trejo
