On May 11, 2025, at 3:10 a.m., Deputy Bryce West was involved in a serious rollover crash during a high-speed pursuit. Her patrol car rolled between 5–7 times, resulting in a traumatic brain injury, a crushed wrist with a broken radius, and multiple head and facial injuries. Miraculously, she survived—thanks to her seatbelt and quick emergency response.

Bryce underwent two emergency surgeries to repair her wrist and radius and relieve nerve damage, with more recovery still ahead. She still has ongoing follow-up appointments for her wrist and arm as well as specialized appointments for her TBI, and we’re hopeful everything will be okay, though we’re waiting to see if there are any long-term concerns.

She’s expected to be out of work for about three to six months, receiving only partial income through workers’ comp. As her wife, I’ve also had to step back from work to care for her, adding to the financial strain.

We’ve always been the ones offering help, which makes asking for it especially difficult. But right now, we’re leaning on our community. Donations will help us cover household expenses, pet care, and any gaps in coverage during Bryce’s recovery.
