Help the Weight Family Rebuild After Hurricane Helene
Dear Friends,
My name is Jim Cole and I am a retired Homeland Security Supervisory Special Agent currently residing in the Nashville, TN area. I serve as the Chief of Law Enforcement & Technology for Operation Light Shine a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to the fight against child sexual exploitation and trafficking. Our Chief Operating Officer is Bryan Weight. Bryan works tirelessly to progress the mission and his father Jack is a part time development associate who helps raise funds for the mission. I am here to seek assistance for the Weight family who are now going through tremendous hardship after Hurricane Helene.
Hurricane Helene has left a devastating impact on many families, including the Weight family, whose home in the Tampa, Florida area was severely flooded. The entire first floor of their home was under water, and the damage has been catastrophic. Bryan, Lauren, their children, and Bryan’s parents, Jack and Becky, all lived in the home. Bryan’s parents, who reside in an in-law suite on the first floor, have lost everything.
What was lost:
• All living room, bedroom, and household furniture
• Personal belongings and cherished items
• Power tools and essential equipment
• Household items that are now being ruined by mold due to the power outage and lingering moisture
The loss is overwhelming, and despite their efforts, even items that weren’t immediately submerged are now being destroyed by mold. Power remains out, and the family is facing an uphill battle to recover.
Bryan serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Operation Light Shine, an organization dedicated to protecting children from exploitation and trafficking, and his father, Jack, is a part-time development associate for the organization. This disaster has hit their family incredibly hard, and they need our help.
How you can help:
We are hoping to raise $50,000 to help the Weight family rebuild. The funds will go toward replacing their furniture, personal belongings, household items, and addressing critical needs such as mold remediation.
Your generosity can help provide relief during this incredibly difficult time and make a world of difference to a family who has dedicated themselves to helping others. Any contribution, big or small, will be deeply appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
Best,
Jim Cole
