A Devastating Loss: Help the Walker Family Rebuild

On the early morning of July 4, 2025, what should have been a day of celebration turned into a nightmare for the Walker family in San Angelo, Texas. Flash floods tore through their neighborhood in the dark of night, filling their newly purchased home with over half a foot of water—and leaving destruction in its wake.

The Walkers—an active-duty military dad, his wife Jennifer, their two baby boys (Christopher, 21 months, and Joseph, 8 months), and their two cats—had only moved in a few months earlier. In February of this year, they proudly became first-time homeowners, excited to settle into a stable life after just relocating to San Angelo with their first PCS (military move) . They chose a home in a neighborhood outside of any flood zone, with no history of flooding—somewhere they believed their young family would be safe.

But everything changed in a matter of hours.

Before sunrise, they woke to water pouring into their home. The flood outside their doors had risen so high, they were completely trapped inside. One of their vehicles was already submersed in the driveway. With nowhere to go and rising water surrounding them, they clung to their babies to keep them safe, hoping and praying for the water to stop.

By the time it did, everything was gone—baby essentials, furniture, electronics, keepsakes, and one of their only vehicles. They have no flood insurance and now, nothing is covered. Every repair, every replacement, every recovery—all on their shoulders.

How You Can Help

Your support will go directly toward helping to:

Restoring their home: drywall, flooring, doors, and essential repairs
Replacing what was lost: baby gear, electronics, furniture, and their vehicle
Help covering bills and boarding for their 2 cats
Giving this young family a chance to feel safe and stable again

In one terrifying night, their home, their safety, and their peace were washed away.
Let’s remind them they’re not alone.

Together, we can show this military family that when disaster strikes, Texans stand tall—with open hearts and helping hands.

Please donate if you’re able—and share their story far and wide. Every prayer, every share, and every dollar brings them one step closer to home.

Thank you for lifting up this family with love, compassion, and hope. ❤️
