My name is Krista, and along with close friends and family, we are hosting this GoFundMe page on behalf of Melissa Favro. Melissa has been a treasured friend since pre-school and we have shared many moments and celebrated many of life's milestones together.

Anyone who knows Melissa will agree when I say she is one of the most humble, compassionate, and loving human beings this world has been graced with. The importance she places on her family, her friends, and her faith, and her willingness to share her gifts and talents to uplift and heal others is truly an inspiration. She brings light and joy to the lives of many, none arguably more so than her husband, Jordan, and their daughter, Amelia.

It won't come as a surprise that among the many roles she has - colleague, friend, daughter, wife - her most treasured of all is that of a mom. She loves deeply and unconditionally, and in March 2025, she will become a mom to another beautiful daughter.

This pregnancy has presented some complications, namely in the development of the baby's cardiovascular system. This will result in several trips to Boston Medical for routine care, as well as a 5-week stay that includes OB/GYN care, labor & delivery, and a major cardiothoracic surgery to repair the baby's aorta shortly after birth. Aside from being an incredibly stressful time emotionally and physically, this will also place a financial strain on Melissa, and Jordan. Melissa is able to work full-time, but Jordan has reduced to per diem hours while he pursues his studies in nursing school.

The direct and indirect costs of this journey pre- and post-partum are substantial when considering travel, lodging, meals, medical bills, and hospital stays.

As such and to provide a softer landing, we are petitioning you all for your generous support to help Melissa and Jordan through this challenging time. For two hardworking people who selflessly show up for others without hesitation, we believe this is an excellent opportunity to reciprocate that compassion and pay it forward to a family who could truly benefit from it as they prepare for their daughter's arrival.
