Aid Tham Bahadur After His Tragic Accident

This picture is of Tham and some of his daughters. Right now he is waiting on a surgery date. At this point we are just trying to keep his rent and other bills paid up. This is the working season as a porter and obviously he is unable to work. So we are definitely still looking for help. So anything you can do is much appreciated.

My name is James Leachman and I am an International Representative of a Trekking Planners in Nepal. It has been brought to my attention that one of our porters named Tham Bahadur Budhathoki had got frostbite which got infected and he will lose his right leg from the knee down. The doctors are trying to get circulation back in the vein but preparing him for the worse. Tham is 55 yrs old and has 7 daughters. He is from the Myagdi district and has been a porter for the last 12 yrs for Trekking Planners. He is also the only member of the family that brings in money. If you know anything about porters in the Nepal Trekking/Climbing world you know that they are the backbone of the industry. They are the hardest workers in all of Nepal. Also you probably know that the people of Nepal are very poor. With the start of the trekking season Tham will not be able to go back to work and support his family due to this terrible accident. Tham is a very proud man and has not asked me to start this fund for him and his family. I am doing this because it is the right thing to do, helping a man and his family in a desperate time of need. I was not going to start this under my name but GoFundMe is not allowed in Nepal at this time. I am in the USA and will handle this side of it. All funds raised will go to this family to help with all needs including all household needs as well as any medical needs he will have in the near future. Those of you that have been to Nepal and have climbed or trekked know how hard being a porter is and how hard they have to work to make what little money they do make. Now it is our turn to give back to one of them that truly needs our help. I pray that Tham's story will touch your heart and that you will be able to help him and his family. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read this. I know that if you have made it this far then you truly do know how important this is. It would also be a blessing if you could share this on your media/friends and family. The more eyes on it the more help we can get for him. From the bottom of my heart thank you so very much. Sincerely Jim Leachman
