Help Tara Rebuild Her Life After Surviving the Unimaginable

My name is James and I’m reaching out on behalf of my childhood friend Tara— someone whose strength, resilience, and will to survive have inspired me beyond words.

Tara is a survivor of a brutal domestic violence incident that nearly took her life. She was the victim of an attempted murder that left her with a traumatic brain injury, severe physical wounds, and lasting PTSD. The attack also resulted in her being permanently disabled and unable to work.

As if that trauma wasn’t enough, just two months later, Tara’s home — the one place where she was beginning to heal — was tragically destroyed in a fire (arson). It was a total loss.

She was able to pay off her mortgage with insurance and sell the land, but the amount was minimal. That money helped her stay afloat for a time — covering rent, medical care, and basic living expenses. But with no income and no safety net, those funds have now been exhausted.

Tara is seeking a fresh start with her service dog Ford— one rooted in safety, stability, and peace. Our goal is to raise $500,000 to help her relocate to a new state, secure safe and accessible housing, and support her as she rebuilds a life from the ashes. This includes long-term living expenses, medical care, and therapy — everything she needs to not just survive, but to truly live again.

Tara is one of the kindest, most loving people I know. She never deserved the pain she’s endured — and yet she continues to fight every day to reclaim her life.
