hiii world (: I’m Tamia and I am a survivor of domestic violence, and I'm determined to move forward with my life. My abuser is the father of my two children, Kali (1) and Kasai (2). I recently escaped a dangerous situation where I had to leave everything behind—only the clothes on our backs remain.
The abuse started gradually, evolving from emotional manipulation to physical violence against me. intimidation tactics against me and my children. He has left us without food or water and has subjected me to horrific conditions, including locking me in a closet while my children cried for help. I have endured being thrown from a car on the side of the road, and though his family has witnessed this behavior, they’ve chosen to look the other way.
His family comes from wealth and influence—his mother works with the police, and his aunt is his lawyer, which has made it difficult for me to be heard. But I’ve finally found the strength to break free from this cycle of abuse. My children and I are safe for now, it feels so good to say this and I’m reaching out for support. We are seeking legal assistance, advocacy, and words of encouragement to help us rebuild our lives. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
