After years of debilitating symptoms and a long journey of misdiagnoses, I have finally uncovered the cause of my health struggles: I tested positive for Cerebral Babesiosis, Bartonella Elizabethae, Borrelia Burgdorferi, and Bartonella Henselae. These parasitic and bacterial infections are cofactors of Lyme disease, and in my case, the two Bartonella strains invaded my central nervous system (CNS), leading to a condition called Neurobartonellosis.

These infections have ravaged my body and mind over the past four years, leaving me battling relentless episodes of crippling panic attacks, crushing brain fog, migraines, nausea, and symptoms that mimicked Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s diseases. Recently, my neurologist revealed that I was dangerously close to having a stroke. My body and brain were beginning to shut down over these last few months. Things went from very bad to nightmarishly bad.

The nightmare began almost four years ago when a client's cat bit me while I was in the client’s home. Little did I know that bite would transmit bacteria capable of invading my CNS and causing immense damage. Later, in 2021, I woke with a bite mark and swelling on my forearm. I had been bitten by something during the night. the swelling and redness went away within a day. Unbeknownst to me, this was a flea that was host to the other bacteria and parasites. These infections have stolen so much from me over the last few years: my energy, my health, my peace of mind, and my ability to enjoy life. It has been a very difficult journey.

The Fight for Recovery

Despite these challenges, I am finally on the path to healing. I am now under the care of a top neurologist and undergoing an intensive treatment program to eradicate these parasites and restore my brain and body health. This includes:

5+ hours of therapy daily, six days a week

A complex regimen of antibiotics, supplements to help reduce inflammation and increase circulation in my brain, probiotics, vitamins, and specialized therapies to target the parasites hiding in my brain, tissues, and CNS. The road to recovery is not an easy one, nor is it straightforward; the parasites hide in my tissues to evade antibiotics and turn into toxins when they die, polluting my blood. This "die-off" is known as a Herxheimer reaction, and it is very painful due to symptoms becoming elevated in intensity. These "die-offs" happen many times along the road to recovery. The Neurologist said, at best, this will be a 4-6 month journey for me.

This treatment is my only chance to recover, but it is incredibly costly. Insurance does not cover these therapies, leaving me to pay out of pocket. So far, I have spent over $50,000, and I face an additional $25,000+ in expenses to complete treatment.
