My name is Stephani Walker. I am starting this account for my lifelong sister friend and her family. She writes:

"Yesterday 5/22/2025 was the scariest day of my life. Steve was lying in bed and out of nowhere had intense sharp debilitating pains in the back of his head and shoulders. I had to call 911 where they transported him to our local hospital. He ended up being life flighted to Pensacola for a brain bleed. It was a terrifying emotional roller coaster of a day and one I hope we never have to go through again.

After a bunch of tests and an angio embolization procedure they determined that it wasn’t an aneurysm but they think a vessel burst around one of the 4 tumors that they found in his brain/neck. He has three on his cerebellum and one on his neck from the genetic disease he has (VHL).

5/23/2025 he had a CT of his brain and neck and an ultrasound of his brain to check the bleed. We got good news that the CT showed no new bleed, no swelling, and it seems like the blood is starting to re-absorb into the body (which is what we want to happen). The ultrasound showed no signs of vessel constriction which is also good. He is now having an echo of his heart which we are waiting on results for. Please pray that he continues to heal and do well. They gave him the okay to eat and drink which should help his energy levels.

The kids are here with us. They wanted to stay close to their dad. They are doing well overall. The boys seem to be doing well now that they know their dad is okay. He was cracking jokes with them when he was coming out of anesthesia from his procedure yesterday and that made them feel better to see him acting like his normal goofy self again.

Steve is doing well and is so thankful too for everyone. He’s such a positive, strong, happy guy, so to see him like he was yesterday broke my heart. We will be in the ICU in Pensacola for 1-2 weeks depending on how he does. We’re hopeful that he’ll make a full recovery here and then we’ll follow up after this on what steps we will need to take next about his tumors."

All of your support and prayers will be greatly appreciated. We are truly blessed with the best friends and family ❤️
