Stephanie Caputi a long time friend could use our help. Dawn Henderson and I are organizing this GoFundMe on her behalf.
Steph been hospitalized and/or in a nursing home since February 2025. When she was on her normal drive to work and her Dr called her and said "get to the ER now". Lab work results had come back and showed a lot of abnormalities.
The final results were ....she was in Renal failure, needed dialysis and she would also need to be put on the kidney transplant list.
During that hospitalization she developed blood clots in her legs making it hard to even get out of bed. So after weeks in the hospital she was sent to a nursing home for skilled care and dialysis transport since their home was an hour away.
Sadly there have been further complications and she was returned to the hospital in May with a wound on her leg, and severe sepsis that left her in critical condition.
Due to this the Dr's were forced to amputate her leg. She is currently still hospitalized after multiple surgeries with another tomorrow.
Understandably her work has replaced her. Before being sent for this most recent hospital stay she had to pay $7500 for the month of May to the nursing home as has used up the skilled nursing days allowed on her insurance plan. But then has spent most of that month in the hospital.
This is not to mention all the other expenses that come with their normal life and farm and now being a new amputee. They are of course navigating through Medicare etc. but that takes time especially when you are so ill. Any help would be so appreciated as her and Robert navigate through this hardship.
