Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am not one to ask for help, but we are in so much need for it right now. On Saturday, June 14th, 2025, we were enjoying time with our family in Valley Grove, WV, for a graduation party. We were the last ones left as the rain started, and we thought we'd wait for it to slow down to get to our vehicles. Once we realized it was not slowing down and the creek had risen very, very quickly (this was all just in minutes), we decided it was time to just go. By the time we got in our cars and were making our way out, the water was starting to come over the roads. We were trapped, and next thing I know, we're in water over the hood of my Jeep. Thankfully, Richard spotted a driveway that was slightly higher than the road, and we aimed for that. My car was revving, and trees and items in the water were smashing into it. I told my baby to take off her seat belt and come to me as I truly didn't think we were making it to that driveway. By the time she had her belt off, we somehow were in the driveway (but still slightly in the water when we jumped out), and minutes later, our car was gone. If anyone knows me, they know we were constantly on the go, so we basically lived in my car, and we lost A LOT of personal things. My daughter lost a lot of her things, but I thank God every day for those strangers who grabbed my child out of my car and opened their home for us to get to safety. Nothing in this world will ever repay them for that.

So I am here to say yes, we had insurance on my vehicle; however, we were still paying on it, and what it is worth is what we owe on the loan. We are also in the middle of closing on a home, and my boyfriend is unable to help due to that, or else we won't get our home that we also need desperately. I am only asking for help to get enough to put on a down payment on a new vehicle. If you are able to help, thank you so, so much. If you don't have the means, just know we understand and appreciate if you could just share.

We are truly grateful to be alive at the end of the day, as others weren't so lucky, and our hearts hurt so badly for them and their family
