Aid Spike's Emergency Recovery

This is Spike. He is a boxer. And he's 12 years old. He's been with me since he was the size of my hand.

A few days ago on his morning walk he collapsed. We called the vet and had to take him to do an emergency surgery. His spleen had multiple tumor nodules. One of them had erupted causing internal bleeding. The spleen has been successfully removed and the fluid drained. However, he contracted pancreatitis (possibly due to the surgery).

He has been in a lot of pain and he is receiving a lot of intravenous medication (such as analgesics, antibiotics, and IV fluids). For that reason he is being kept hospitalized.

We are still waiting further exams (like x-ray and biopsy of the spleen) to determine the gravity of the cancer and if it spread elsewhere. After that we will consult with an oncologist for the next steps.
