Spencer Ning Zheng was a visiting scholar from China, a Ph.D. student at Renmin University in Beijing. He was spending a year in the Religious Studies Department at UC Santa Barbara. In the short span of only 4 months in Santa Barbara, he fully enjoyed his life of exploration, learning, and excitement here. His naturally curious and highly sociable nature meant that he made tons of friends and touched so many people.

Alas, his life was snatched away at the young age of 32 because he did not know how to swim.

We are collecting funds to help his parents, an invalid father who cannot work, and a mother with temporary jobs who had to fly all the way to California from China to collect his remains.
