Family Crisis

On Mother’s Day, our beloved Mystral Gould was found unresponsive in her home and tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, Thor, was also discovered in critical condition and rushed to the ICU. He is now facing a double amputation due to severe complications from diabetes, including issues affecting his head and lower extremities. Thor has been bedbound since his last surgery and will require a long recovery, including time in a hospital and rehabilitation facility.

Their daughter, Soren, is only 22 years old. She is now navigating devastating grief while also making urgent medical and financial decisions for her father—who remains unresponsive.

To make matters worse, the family home is uninhabitable due to black mold and other contaminants. Everything inside must be removed and discarded, except for a few personal items like photos, jewelry, important documents, and computer towers. Even those items must be specially handled and professionally decontaminated to ensure they are safe to keep.

We’ve received a professional quote of $18,500 for the cleanup and disposal. We understand this is a significant amount of money to raise quickly. If we are unable to meet that goal, our backup plan is to gather at least 10 volunteers from the community who can suit up with protective gear and help safely clear the home by hand.

Even with volunteer help, we still need funds for:

• A 40-yard dumpster (minimum 3-day rental)

• PPE and supplies for volunteers

• Decontamination of salvageable items

• Temporary housing for Soren (her hotel stay ends mid-next week)

• Transport and storage for the cleaned personal items

• Ongoing medical and rehabilitation costs for Thor

Soren has lost her mother, her home, and a sense of security. She is doing her best in an impossible situation. Please help however you can—through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word.
