7-year-old Skylynn sustained a femur injury that currently requires her to use a wheelchair. She underwent emergency surgery at the Children’s Hospital in Chicago, during which a plate and seven screws were placed in her leg. Due to these injuries, she is unable to walk and needs continuous in-home care, including assistance with bathing, navigating stairs, and using the restroom.
The recovery process is expected to take at least three months, during which she will participate in physical therapy five times a week and travel to Chicago for follow-up appointments. Skylynn's mother is a single parent who is unable to work full-time because she must focus on her daughter's care. Assistance and support for their situation are welcome. Anything that anyone can donate or do to help will be greatly appreciated.
