Aid Skip's Freedom and Farm

My name is Shawna, and I'm trying to raise funds to help my father. My Dad, Skip, is a 66-year-old retired Navy veteran. For decades now, he's had an uphill battle with PTSD, physical health issues, and a never-ending string of Murphy's Law luck. In 2021, he saw his luck change for the better. He created Shaski Farms. Shaski Farms is his dream coming to fruition. Specializing in Florida-based Heritage breeds, Dad finally found his niche and knack. From cattle, goats, hens, and hogs, he was taking it on and doing alright (with the help of a couple of fantastic wranglers).

Up until January 31st of this year. On the evening of January 31st, my Dad was caught up in a nasty altercation on the farm. In fear for his life, my Dad shot his aggressor in the leg, then immediately contacted the local authorities to report the incident. He stayed on the line until said authorities arrived at the scene and cooperated with them every step of the way. Once at the facility, Dad was placed on suicide watch for close to a month. During that time, he had absolutely zero contact with anyone outside those walls, short of staff and a therapist/psychiatrist. Naturally, bills started piling up, as well as a nasty $500,000 bond.

My Dad has an outstanding faith in the justice system, and I applaud that. However, on this side of the wall, I'm struggling to maintain faith. When all is said and done, I'd like him to still have Shaski Farms and a roof over his head. Any donation is greatly appreciated, large or small. The proceeds of this fundraiser will go directly to Dad's legal fees and the preservation of his legacy. No veteran, or civilian, should have to endure what he's enduring for the simple right of standing your ground. Thank you so very much for anything you may be able to help with.
