Aid Sierra's Recovery After Loss

Hi, my name is Sierra, and I never thought I’d be in a place where I’d have to ask for help like this—but right now, I don’t know where else to turn.

Just recently, my longtime partner passed away in a driving accident. What most people don’t know is that I spent the last six years in a relationship filled with emotional, physical, verbal, and financial abuse. I stayed as long as I did because I was scared, isolated, and financially trapped. He eventually became our main provider 2 years ago because he didn't "want me working as a bartender" and anytime I would suggest a job he would say no. He would says "I'm scared you're going to find someone there."

James struggled with alcohol for years. I begged him to get help, but he refused. Instead, I endured constant screaming, manipulation, and threats—sometimes toward me, sometimes toward himself. He cheated on me throughout our relationship, sent money to other women while we could barely afford groceries.

One of the last things he did was steal my car and total it. That car was my only way to get to work. I’m behind on rent, I have no transportation, and I’m trying to keep life stable for my 10-year-old son, Kayden. I don’t want him to suffer because of everything we’ve already had to survive.

I’m asking for help to:

• Pay our rent and avoid eviction

• Get a reliable car so I can get back to work

• Cover basic necessities while we try to heal and rebuild
