My name is Sha-Ron, and I am seeking support to help alleviate the financial strain and hardships I'm going through.
I was diagnosed in March this year with cancer that is in my blood and absorbs my bone marrow. The cancer ate through my femur bone in my right thigh. I had to have major surgery, and they put a titanium rod in my thigh. Due to all the chronic pain that I am having, and now I must use a walker, I am disabled and had to quit my job.
I am on disability, and my income was reduced to less than half of what I was getting.
My medical bills and expenses are overwhelming. I drive an hour to treatments and doctor appointments twice per week.
Then in September, Hurricane Helene hit our town. I had major damage that occurred: my flooring inside the house buckled up, my roof needs to be replaced, the quote is $11k (insurance willing to pay $8k); the ceiling in one room will need to be replaced, my fence needs repairs, and my inground pool equipment was completely destroyed, including the pipes/plumbing. The pool liner needs to be replaced due to tree branches falling/tearing it. Insurance is not willing to cover the liner replacement; the quote for pool repair is $18k.
I was without power for 10 days and no water for 4 days. I had to get a generator (paid $1k on a credit card). Insurance will not cover it, nor FEMA.
Insurance is not willing to cover everything. FEMA gave me a small amount. I am grateful for those funds regardless of the amount.
Since I am disabled, my flooring was an urgent need to replace as it was a trip/fall hazard. I put the charges just over $7k on my credit card. Since insurance won't cover this, I will need help paying off the card. Insurance stated that this was normal foundation settling. My house was built in 1962, and the flooring professionals stated that the floors were damaged due to water from the hurricane.
I had to pay $1k to have a tree cut down that was a threat to falling as it was uprooted during the storm.
I was charged $10k for tree debris removal; 5 trees fell on my property that caused all the damages.
There are 8 more trees that will need to be cut down as they are leaning and could cause future damage. The quotes are roughly $1500 per tree. That's $12k that is needed.
If you are reading this and you find it in your heart to provide financial support to me, please know that I am truly grateful and appreciate you more than you can imagine.
Thank you!
