Help Selina, Kayden, and Kayne After an Unimaginable Loss

My heart is shattered as I write this. Zachary was a big part of my life. I am the mother of Selina Sinner, a young woman who has just lost the father of her two little boys in the most devastating way imaginable.

Zachary Lucas, the father of Kayden (1) and Kayne (3), was shot multiple times by someone our family once trusted. In an instant, my daughter became a single mother overnight, and my grandsons lost their dad forever.

Selina has already been through so much. She lost one job after Hurricane Helene. The business was flooded. Then Milton flooded St. Armand's Circle and her new job was gone too. This left Zachary as the only financial provider. She was finally set to start a new job later this month, but now she is faced with an unbearable reality—grieving the loss of Zachary while trying to keep a roof over her sons’ heads.

There was no life insurance. There are no Social Security survivor benefits for the boys. There is no financial cushion—just a mother who is doing everything she can to hold her family together while her world is falling apart.

I am asking for help because Selina needs time to grieve, but she doesn’t have that luxury. Rent is overdue for February, and March’s rent is looming. There are bills to pay—electricity, car insurance—basic things she needs to keep life going for her babies. And of course, she needs to put food on the table for Kayden and Kayne.

Selina’s entire focus is on her boys. Little Kayden is too young to understand, but sweet Kayne is asking questions that no three-year-old should ever have to ask. She is trying to find the words to explain why Daddy isn’t coming home while holding back her own tears.
