Aid Scott's Recovery from Fire Tragedy

Scott Schaeffer is a good and caring man, a friend and resident of Pacific Palisades and a keystone in the community that is west side recovery. He’s helped more people than any other that I can think of in times of need, trepidation, weakness and sorrow. There likely isn’t one Palisades AA meeting that hasn’t been assisted by him in some way. Many of us, rightly so, call him friend. I am pleased I get to put this together for him. He is my friend. In doing so, it’s also nice to see that he had a receding hairline even at 5. Forgive my paltry attempt at humor, its been a trying past few days and we could all use some laughs.

Our friend is in need.

Due to the recent fires of the Pacific Palisades our friend lost his home and all of his belongings. I spoke to him yesterday and he was on the way to buy an additional pair of pants as he had only those he was wearing. During all of this chaos, what was he spending most of his time doing? Helping his elderly landlord, a woman who was appearing for court proceedings and me. Many of us have relied on him too much and I hope it is time for us to pay a little back.
