My name is Savannah and I have 2 young sons and every since losing my husband two years ago it has been a very tough battle for us emotionally, mentally, and financially. And the financial struggle has hit a point right now that I don't know what to do. We have been without water for over two weeks now and a plumber came out along with a friend to see if there was a cheap or simple fix for the time be but because the water pipe sits directly below the gas pipe with very little room in between them and the house being over 80 years old the only option is looking to be to dig up and reroute the line but it will cost just short of $4,000. When the leak first happened it caused a flood under my house that is still trying to dry up so we can see if there was any damage under it. On top of this my roof is leaking bad enough that the ceiling in room is getting wet and I am told it is only a matter of time before it starts falling apart from getting weak. When I had my insurance company come out I found out that I had been scammed several years ago when it was suppose to have been replaced and apparently recycled material got used by the company who did it but the insurance company will not cover the repair seen as how it was suppose to have been replaced. I work 12 hour shifts doing everything I can to stay afloat, but trying to find a way to afford these repairs is practically impossible when trying to pay my utilities, groceries, medical bills, and take care of my sons. I have tried for loans but can't get approved because after I lost my husband I ended up having to file for bankruptcy the following year when I fell behind on almost everything. I have been working hard to get everything back in order and on the right track for my sons and me and keep my faith that everything will work out somehow. I won't be able to give my sons much of a Christmas this year but have told them we are still blessed to even have a home. Last year we started a Christmas charity project for the Homeless and handed out 48 stockings and it meant alot to them. Even with all this going on they still want to do it again this year and I have already purchased most of what was needed throughout the year before all this happened with a goal to hand out 60 pull string bags to the homeless this year full of all kinds off items. All we still need is the snacks so I am hopeful to still do that on the 20th to help show them that when I say we are still more blessed than others even with these struggles they will understand even more. Anything that can help me toward making the repairs I need and pushing forward I am grateful for as I am trying my hardest to stay strong and not lose my faith or hope. The photos I have attached are of the pipes, the flood under the house, the ceiling inside, and photos of the baskets we have for our charity project.
