Hello, my name is Sara, and I assume most of you guys know me at least somewhat. I want to start this off by saying no one AT ALL is required to donate to this. I always wrestle with doing a GoFundMe because I know it invites heavy criticism, and that’s fine but just know that nobody is being forced to donate. ☺️

Last January after recovering from Covid, while getting into my car like I normally do, I experienced what I can only quantify as the worst pain of my whole life. I couldn’t lay down, sit, stand, or do anything without agonizing pain. I went to Urgent Care who told me I had pulled a muscle, and then I sat on my couch and cried because nothing made the pain better. I didn’t know it at the time, and it would take several more incidents of this before my doctor sent me in May of this year for an MRI. I found out that I have a herniated disc in my cervical spine at C5/C6. I cried again, but also finally felt validated that I was indeed not crazy and that a couple Tylenol is not gonna cut it. Currently I have gone through three instances this year where the pain was so great I couldn’t even sit up, and the pain is now traveling to my wrist and hip. I saw my doctor again this week, and she is recommending me to a spine specialist where we will talk about potential surgery options. I want to avoid surgery if at all possible, but that is going to require a lot of lifestyle changes, one of which is taking every precaution with my posture and neck.

This finally brings me to my GoFundMe! My current office chair is an ancient gaming chair which after an hour sitting in makes me want to Sparta kick it out the window. After lots, and lots of research and annoying my friends, I have finally found a chair that I believe will help me to not only alleviate pain, but also hopefully rehab my neck so that I don’t need surgery. For context I not only use my office chair for work, but all of my hobbies and even my Twitch stream, so it needs to be sit-able for most of the day.

Like all worthwhile things, this chair is hella expensive, and that is even going as far as getting a refurbished model (the original is over $1400, I’ll include a photo). I have looked into a reputable refurbished website that offers 12 year warranties on their chairs, which I feel like is amazing. So yeah I have typed a lot, but if people are able to help me get this chair I would really appreciate it.
