Aid Sarah's Recovery from Mold Illness

Hi everyone, my name is Sarah and I am a single mom of two young kids. We have just moved to Arizona within the last two months because we wound up in toxic black mold infested low-income housing after my children and I suffered a heartbreaking divorce.

The black mold took a huge toll on all three of our bodies. My son had surgery at the age of three months, and my four-year-old daughter was headed into a different surgery if we did not get out. I was not aware that we were surrounded until the Lord told me through a series of conversations at church after one year of exposure. 

The children are recovering really well and bouncing back by the grace of God, although all three of us need to be treated by specialists. 

While in the mold, I was completely in immune suppression and did not experience the crippling symptoms that I have now. 

Not too long after moving, I have become absolutely incapacitated and have developed symptoms that have simply knocked me down in every sense and did so very abruptly and unexpectedly. 

I am suffering migraines that are lasting for weeks, body aches, rapid heartbeat, extreme fatigue, hot flashes, cold sweats, nausea, memory loss, brain fog, ear ringing, sharp electric pains in my ears and joints, and a whole host of other symptoms that I am now seeking medical attention for.

So far we know that some of my organs are struggling from the toxicity of the mold, specifically my intestines and gallbladder. My children’s intestines have been made “leaky” but further testing is needed to determine the effects this has all had on their levels. 

This will be a very long journey that I’ll try my best to keep you updated about as we learn more. 

I typically work with children with special needs, but I had to quit my job because I have become so ill and can barely get out of bed most days. I do not know what the Lord will do, but He promises that He is my healer and my redeemer.  

For now though, I do know that I am not able to work in this condition, as difficult as that is for me to accept. I am starting this GoFundMe to ask for help with the bills while I go through medical treatment to try and find a solution for my health issues.

I am the sole source of income for my little family, and the pressure on my shoulders is tremendous to take care of them, both their financial needs and their physical needs, and of course, so much more.

Starting in late July, I will have a more steady source of income that will be coming in, but I have a period of time in between now and then where I need help.

It is really difficult for me to ask for help…I’ve always been self sufficient and “tough.” I’ve never been truly sick except for a flu here or there. I’ve never experienced anything that has put me out of commission. It has taken me weeks to succumb to this and to face the fact that I truly do need help. I cant toughen my way out of this one, and now I’m forced to sit still and to trust.
