My Journey to Recovery: Supporting Samantha

Hi everyone, my name is Samantha, and I am 45 years old, I proudly work two full-time jobs here in beautiful Sarasota, Florida. I'm also the blessed mother of two amazing children and the adoring Gme to two precious grandbaby boys.

My life took an unexpected and devastating turn when I was struck by an SUV while riding my e-bike to work. The impact shattered my tibial plateau in four places and fractured my fibula. Complications arose, and I developed compartment syndrome in my leg, requiring emergency surgeries to save it. So far, I've undergone a total of three surgeries to try and repair the damage.

The reality is, I won't be able to put any weight on my right leg for at least three months, and I'm facing a minimum of six months out of work. I've been in the hospital since March 18th, and the road ahead feels long and uncertain.

My heart especially aches for my incredible 13-year-old daughter, Raylin, who will be turning 14 on April 22nd. We had planned a Sky zone celebabration planned. Raylin decided that a big party wasn't necessary, believing my health is what truly matters. As her mom, I still long to make her feel speacial

Therefore, a small portion of any donations I receive would go towards creating a modest but meaningful birthday celebration for my thoughtful daughter. The overwhelming majority of the funds, however, will be absolutely crucial in helping me cover my living expenses, buying wheelchair ramps, a bedside camode, a wedge for elevation, and ice packs, also grocery money, and rent through this extended period of recovery and unemployment. Which is looking like more than 6 months and may not be able to return to my full-time jobs, that I was working at.

I know that times are financially tough for so many these days. Asking for help is not something I do easily, but my family and I are truly in a time of significant need.
