My name is Samantha. I am a 34 y.o. wife, RN, and mother of 4 who has been hospitalized since June 10, 2025. I was initially diagnosed with a bowel obstruction that had been resolved, but oddly, my symptoms of pain and swelling in the abdomen did not. After weeks of pleading with surgeons to do surgery to resolve my symptoms, they finally agreed. Unfortunately, that surgery was not scheduled soon enough, and my bowel perforated, leading to emergent surgery. While recovering from that surgery on June 30, I started not feeling well and was found to have internal wound dehiscence, pockets of infection, and additional inflammation needing to be resected.

While this has all been happening to me, my wonderful husband has been at home taking care of our 4 beautiful children: Noah (12), Julianna (7), Roman (3), and Ezekiel (2).

While my employer is the hospital that I am currently admitted to, benefits don't completely cover missed pay, and unfortunately, we need to continue our childcare so that my husband may continue to work. We have cut out any additional costs for now and appreciate any donations provided.
