Help Support My Daughter’s Epilepsy Monitoring Stay

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out as a mom doing my best to hold everything together while my daughter goes through a tough medical journey. She’s being admitted to the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) on Monday, November 17th @11am for 8–10 days, so doctors can safely monitor and study her seizures in real time. This is an important step toward finding the right diagnosis and treatment plan that could change her quality of life.

Because she’s a minor being treated in an adult hospital, she cannot be left alone. I’ll need to stay by her side the entire time — and that means taking time off work, which will cause a big financial strain on our family.

My daughter will also miss school & work herself, and while I’m at the hospital with her, I still have two other children at home — about an hour and a half away. I’ll need to travel back and forth to make sure they’re taken care of and get to and from school each day. On weekends, I may have to stay in a nearby hotel with the girls so I can be close to the hospital and still manage everything safely.

This fundraiser will help cover:

• Lost wages for both of us during her hospital stay

• Food and gas while traveling back and forth

• Hotel costs when I need to stay overnight near the hospital

• Daily expenses for my other two children

• Any additional recovery needs once she’s discharged

This has been an emotional and overwhelming time, but I’m hopeful this hospital stay will bring the answers we’ve been praying for. Any amount — big or small — will help ease some of the pressure and allow me to focus on what matters most: being there for my daughter while keeping life stable for my other kids.
