Aid Rose's Family: A Tragic Loss to Violence
Donation protected
The staff of the Elizabeth Seton Residence Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wellesley, Massachusetts, was shocked and saddened to learn that our co-worker, Rose Esthere Lacroix, was murdered on June 30 in what appears to be a domestic violence tragedy. Rose was a beloved member of our nursing team, whose compassion and care for others was evident in her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her patients consistently complimented her kindness, noting the attention she paid to their comfort, dignity, and safety. For someone with such a promising future and hopes of advancing her healthcare career, it is all the more shocking that we lost Rose to such violence the night after she finished a shift of tending to others.
We are heartbroken at the loss of our friend and colleague, and are assisting her brother in raising the funds needed for funeral expenses and to enable her 9-year-old son and her mother in Haiti to travel to Boston for the services.
Here is Rose's story: Rose Esthere Lacroix was born in Haiti—a woman full of heart, strength, and unshakable determination. On July 1, 2023, she arrived in the United States with one goal: to create a better future for her family. Back home in Haiti, her young son Jayden and her aging mother depended on her love and financial support. She carried that responsibility with dignity and grace.
Rose didn’t waste a single moment. She learned English, studied hard, earned her CNA license, and quickly found employment at the Elizabeth Seton Residence—a place she called a blessing. She often said it was more than a job; it was a community where she could grow, serve others, and chase her dreams.
On March 11, 2024, Rose got married, believing in love and in the hope of building a life together. But sadly, her story took a devastating turn. On June 30, 2025, Rose was tragically killed in an act of domestic violence—taken from this world by her husband.
Despite challenges, Rose always gave everything she had. She worked multiple jobs to provide for her son, never complained, and never gave up. She was a woman of grace, humility, and sacrifice.
Now, her 9-year-old son is left behind—motherless, vulnerable, and without the pillar that held his world together. Her mother in Haiti grieves from afar. And her friends, coworkers, and community mourn the loss of a light that was stolen far too soon.
We are humbly asking for your support in helping give Rose the farewell she deserves. Any financial assistance toward her funeral arrangements—no matter the amount—would help honor her life and legacy, and bring dignity and peace to her memory. Rose came here with a dream to give. Now it’s our turn to give back in her memory.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
