Aid Ron Bushaw's Healing and New Beginning

Hi, my name is Ron Bushaw and I currently live in Austin, Texas. So friends, here is the short and long of what happened to me and why I need your help.

On January 27th, 2025, I was brutally attacked in my sleep at a state-funded transitional center for men. I don't remember anything about the attack. What I do remember is waking up in ICU and being informed that my jaw had been broken in three places. Reconstructive surgery was to consist of two metal plates in my jaw and eight stitches in my forehead. Once I woke up from that, I discovered my jaw was wired shut and would then spend the next 10 days in ICU. (Shout-out to the nursing staff and doctors on the ICU unit at St. David's South in Austin. You guys are the best!)

Unfortunately, I didn't have insurance that would cover the plastic surgeries that would happen over the next two and a half months. And as anyone who has had their mouth wired shut for any amount of time knows, it's no walk in the park. During the two months, I was on a straight liquid diet and lost 25 lbs. And of course, I wasn't able to work during this time. So my phone was shut off at one point, and I have fallen behind on every other bill that I have, including rent.

And now it's time to pick up the pieces and move on with my life in this new town, a place where I had planned to start fresh before this happened, as I had only been in Austin for two weeks! So that is the short of it. So I'm asking you to help me get the fresh start, the do-over, the chance for me to get through this and live my life like it should be lived.
