Aid Romeo’s Recovery and Medical Expenses

On the morning of New Year’s Eve Romeo was acting slightly lethargic and had continued to have less than an appetite than usual for the past 2 days. We took him the ER where he would spend the next 36 hours being tested, sedated, force fed, receive fluids, and eventually made stable. These 36 hours were traumatic for him and I but at the end of it I had a healthy and hungry cat. He has since continued (and will continue) to go back for more procedures and tests. He currently has a glucose monitor installed under his skin so I can monitor for any sudden drops, and he will continue to need more blood work to determine the exact cause of his lethargy and loss of appetite. Best case, he was having issues with his diabetic diagnosis that he has dealt with for over a year- worst case, we are still unsure and he will continue to get sick until more testing is done.

The cost of the ER vet, the prescriptions, and follow ups with his primary vet have already reached over $5,000, and have yet to reach a cap.
I would gladly pay anything they asked, but this unexpected charge has proven detrimental to me. I was able to get loans from banks and family members, but I am frankly terrified of how to deal with what’s to come financially.
The holidays are hard for everyone, especially today, and it feels wrong to ask for something I should have been prepared for- but this is how desperate I have become.

I love my cat, and I know every part of this is my responsibility. But I could not find a good reason to not ask for help from other people who may love Romeo, or me, and be able and willing to help us out while we deal with this slight financial devastation.

Truly, anything helps and will be going to pay off my carecredit, my affirm, and my sister’s carecredit that she graciously took out just for Romeo.

If you’re unable to help monetarily, please just keep Romeo in your thoughts and send positive vibes that this will all be over soon. I am happy to show proof of loans and purchases, as well as discuss more in depth his potential diagnosis and testing needed.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
