On Friday, November 14, my friend, Amilyn’s husband, Rob, had an unexpected medical emergency. Unfortunately, the big toe on his right foot and the metatarsal bone had to be amputated. He is experiencing several other health issues on top of this and additional surgeries are being scheduled.
Rob is facing a long hospital stay and many weeks, to months, of rehabilitation. The costs are already looking to be overwhelming, even with insurance because - well – insurance (deductible, out-of-pocket expenses, out-of-network services, etc.). We’ve all experienced this and know how frustrating it can be.
Rob will be unable to work for 2 months or more. Short-term disability will help, but it will not be enough! Their savings were depleted earlier this year with Amilyn’s medical expenses.
Your support will go directly towards covering Rob’s hospital stay, medications, and rehabilitation, home care and medical equipment that will be needed once he is discharged. This will allow him to focus on getting better and getting back to work. Also, it will help with household expenses while Rob is unable to work.
Any donation, big or small, makes a huge difference. Rob, Amilyn and their two boys, Kevin and Kenny, thank you for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time.
