Aid Musician Robert's Emergency Surgery and Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Rain McCoy, and I'm from Corpus Christi, Texas—where my father, Robert McCoy, lives with his loyal dog, Buddy. (Well, right outside in Sandia!)

I am heartbroken to share that this week, he was in a horrific accident that left his arm broken in three places.
After an emergency surgery, his arm should recover, but the hardest part isn't over yet.
Robert is a lifelong musician and friend to all. When I was little, he would play guitar and sing me to sleep. He spent many years of my childhood as a private guitar teacher for children across the city and more recently has spread good vibes and peace at local restaurants such as The Pearl, Smokey's, The Gaff, and more.
My dad is also endlessly brave and full of incredible strength. He now suffers from severe arthritis that has disabled his hands to the point where he can't play a traditional guitar anymore. But that doesn't stop Robert from spreading joy with music. When he plays gigs today, listeners enjoy his singing accompanied by tunes played on the lap steel guitar.
Music is everything to Robert—not just for himself, but to give music to others.

Anyone that has heard my dad play knows—Robert is an inspirational singer-songwriter who is a source of endless inspiration and joy for the South Texas area because his story is one of love. Love of music. Love of people.
Our family does not have the resources to get Robert the care he needs while recovering. He supports himself playing gigs—which he cannot do until his arm heals. He lives alone with his dog, and I am unable to travel to him. Due to his pre-existing disability and autoimmune diseases that make him extremely sensitive to medications, having a severely broken arm is extremely challenging for him and unimaginably painful.
He needs funding for:
- In-patient care and physical therapy
- Temporary care for his dog Buddy
- Emergency surgery fees
- Lawyer fees to receive worker liability compensation
Please consider donating to my father. Even a few dollars will help in his recovery so he can get back to doing what he loves. If you've ever had the pleasure of watching Robert perform, please, please share this.
Thank you for reading.
Peace and love,
Rain
