Aid Robby, Cydney & Baby Elliot's Flood Recovery

Hello, friends, family, and kind strangers,

My name is Robby Bettin, and I'm reaching out from the depths of my heart during what feels like the darkest chapter of our lives. My wife Cydney and I are proud parents of our precious baby girl, Elliot. For the past three years (to the exact day of the disaster, Aug 10), we've been building our life in West Bend, Wisconsin—but in an instant, a devastating flood tore through our community, leaving our house on the brink of collapse. The walls are buckling, the foundation is crumbling, and everything we've poured our love and hard work into is slipping away before our eyes.

For the past 13 years, I've served in the Army and the Wisconsin Army National Guard, and on the civilian side, I work as an aircraft mechanic in Appleton. My wife works at Aurora Healthcare in Menomonee Falls as an ophthalmic technician.

Our insurance company has turned its back on us, claiming we're not covered for this nightmare. We are currently fighting them tooth and nail, but if we lose this battle, we'll be left with a mortgage on a home that's no longer standing and will most likely never be able to own a home, let alone be able to rent again.

Turning to GoFundMe feels like the ultimate act of desperation, but we're out of options, staring at an uncertain future for our little girl. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards either paying for lawyers and repairs (although I doubt it's repairable at this point) or towards paying off the mortgage if the insurance ends up winning.
