Our dear colleague Rita, as you may have already heard went through an unimaginable terrible tragedy yesterday August 6. Where she has lost everything in her entire apartment due to an apartment fire.

She received a frantic call while at work that the apartment is on fire. By the time she got there the apartment was completely burned and destroyed: gratefully Rita’s mother was able to escape the fire but is now suffering from trauma. We are extremely grateful to the FDNY for evacuating Rita’s mother and their efforts. 

We are all praying for her speedy recovery. Rita’s elderly 86 year old mother is admitted and being treated in Mount Sinai Brooklyn hospital due to smoke inhalation.

Many know Rita as a hard worker who has spent her last 20 years as a nurse caring for others. She is a provider who works a full time job, Rita as we know is a proud devoted mother, daughter and grandmother.

While they will be displaced for a long while. Our goal is to help our beloved friend, restart her life from scratch.

We are calling on the circle of friends and family to provide mutual aid through financial support if possible. Your generosity, along with your thoughts and prayers, will bring hope and comfort to this family during this tragic and difficult time.
