Dear friends and family,
First, we want to take the time to thank you all for your generosity and support for the Randall McCumbers fundraiser. We are launching this fundraiser on behalf of Navy veteran and SAPD Officer Randall McCumbers and his family. Randall served in the U.S. Navy from 1979 to 1994. He served on hunter fast attacks and ballistic missile submarines.
Randall is currently a Police Officer with the San Antonio Police Department with over thirty years of experience. He is currently a skills instructor at the San Antonio Police Training Academy. He has trained and mentored several thousand officers, as well as civilians, with the department. Randall has nearly two decades of experience as a skills instructor and has been instrumental with the development of thousands of officers, and has been an inspiration to those who have served with him. Randall joined the San Antonio Police Department in 1994 with class 94A. He served as an Field Training Officer (FTO) for several years and has trained over two-thousand five hundred officers on the department. He is dedicated to serving and helping others and we wanted to do something to help him and his family during this difficult time.
In August of 2024, Randall was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. His prognosis has kept him out of work for several months, and he has exhausted all of his sick leave. He has been on official sick leave for several months. These donations will help provide lost income of his self-employed wife Gina and lodging for family during the surgery and recovery period at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Your kindness, and generous support is greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless.
