Aid Ramses' Financial Burden After Emergency Heart Surgery

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Sara, and I am starting this fundraiser for my father, Ramses. He is a devoted Christian and father who works hard for the church and the community. He is an honest and kind man, full of love for people, and a loyal friend to those who seek him.

Unfortunately, on July 23, 2025, life reminded us of how fragile it can be when a routine heart exam turned into emergency surgery in less than 24 hours. For the past two years, my father had not been feeling well. He experienced fainting spells, general fatigue, and lethargy, but doctors were unable to determine the cause of these symptoms. Thankfully, while he was having an EKG done, he had one of these episodes, and the nurse noticed that his heart rate had dropped to 35 bpm, when the average is around 60 bpm. He was rushed by ambulance to the ER and underwent emergency surgery. Thankfully, the doctors were able to place a pacemaker to regulate his heartbeat. He has since fully recovered and is now feeling good for the first time in two years.

We are aware that without that surgery, my dad would most likely not be with us today, and we are immensely grateful that the doctors were able to detect it before anything worse would happen. However, this entire situation has hit our family hard financially, as my father does not have health insurance due to financial hardship. His recovery was further threatened by the stress of receiving bill after bill, starting less than a week after his surgery. We applied for financial aid, but it was denied because we receive government assistance in the form of Social Security income for my brother, who has Down syndrome. As many of you can imagine, this income is below minimum wage and barely covers his expenses. My mother is also unable to help financially, as she is disabled with very poor vision. However, she was denied financial aid by the Social Security Administration, which stated that she was not considered disabled enough.

I currently live in Germany, and all I can do to help is write these words, support my dad in lowering his stress so he does not carry this burden alone, and do everything I can to ensure that this debt does not take away his quality of life and dignity.

We are humbly asking for your help and compassion. Any amount you can give will make a difference — every cent counts. Every dollar donated will be used to pay for all the medical bills to relieve the current debt. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story. May God bless you, and may your generosity be returned to you multiplied.
