Hi there, my name is Phi and I am a healthcare worker based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. I am an individual that has struggled with severe issues with my mental health since an early age, which has impacted my ability to take care of basic hygiene requirements over the past several years. Due to this issue, I have accumulated issues with my teeth that need to be addressed as soon as possible so that they may not worsen, but I am struggling to handle the financial burden alone. We live in a society that does not value dental and vision as integral parts of our health and therefore they are treated as cosmetic accessories by insurance companies. On 6/6/2025, I received a root canal to begin the journey of repairing my teeth, and with the severity of several other teeth there is a possibility of me needing more of those type of procedures. This root canal alone only had $1000 covered by my dental insurance, and that is the maximum amount of money that my dental insurance will put towards any procedures during the calendar year, so I have maxed out the coverage by my insurance. I still have a long journey ahead to recover my dental health, and this journey is unfortunately costly due to the lack of coverage from my insurance. I am reaching out to my community for assistance in paying for these bills so I may have these procedures and be confident and secure in the health of my teeth. I want to be able to find myself in a good financial standing to be comfortable going on this emotionally stressful and taxing journey, and with that help I intend to give back to my community when I find myself in the position to be able to do so.
