Aid Paul Lindquist's Leukemia Journey

Hi everyone,
We have some difficult news to share: our dad has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). He is currently receiving exceptional care at the Cleveland Clinic and will soon begin an intensive treatment plan that includes chemotherapy and, eventually, a bone marrow transplant.

Over the next month, he’ll undergo chemotherapy as we await the blessing of a matched donor. Once a donor is found, he’ll remain hospitalized for 4–6 weeks during the transplant process. After that, he will face another 100 days in isolation while his immune system recovers. This will be a long, exhausting road, and we are preparing for the physical, emotional, and financial strain that comes with it.

Zach and I are incredibly grateful for the love, prayers, and support we’ve already received. Your messages and kindness have lifted our spirits more than we can say. To help keep everyone updated, we’ve created a CaringBridge page where we’ll share updates on his progress.

We’ve also started a GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden of this journey — from daily necessities like food and transportation, to uncovered medical expenses and copays that will begin to add up quickly. Because his insurance is out of network, we’re already seeing out-of-pocket costs, and there may be long-term care needs after his transplant.

After his hospital stay, Dad will be staying with Zach and Kelsey in Cleveland to remain close to his care team. During that time, preparing meals will be difficult, so gift cards for DoorDash, UberEats, or Grubhub would be incredibly appreciated. Though we can’t organize a traditional Meal Train from afar, we’re doing our best to make sure he’s supported in every way possible.

We are deeply thankful for your support. Your generosity means the world to us — not only does it ease today’s burdens, but it also gives our dad the chance to look forward to healing with some of his retirement still intact. That peace of mind is a priceless gift. Any funds that are left over after dad is in remission and cured and this is behind us will be donated to the Leukemia Society.

Thank you for walking alongside us during this journey. We believe with all our hearts that Dad will overcome this.

With love and gratitude,
Paul’s family”
