Help Patrick Donahue Battle Stage 4 Metastatic Colon Cancer

We’ve been bowled over by everyone’s love and generosity—you people are the best! Patrick is incredibly strong and your support helps so much with this battle.

Unfortunately, the bills keep rolling in, and we have had some bad financial setbacks that have forced us to reach out and ask for your help again.

We’re navigating the bi-weekly 4-day chemotherapy cycles through UNC’s Lineberger Cancer Center, alongside continued consultations with top experts from the University of California, San Francisco. Thanks in large part to people’s generosity, Patrick has had much of the intensive dental work necessary to be able to soon add more chemo agents into his treatment, which is terrific news!

We’re scheduled for more scans and another colonoscopy soon to more thoroughly assess progress and help our team decide if, where, and when he can have surgery to remove the primary tumor. We’ve also started to plan with other programs for future immunotherapy treatments.

As Realtors, we are independent contractors without company-sponsored healthcare, and while we are truly grateful for our private insurance, our bills that it helps cover are still astronomical. And there are many aspects of Patrick’s treatment that are not covered at all, such as out-of-state treatments, any non-traditional therapies, and all of the dental work. Meanwhile, since the last GoFundMe, we have received some very bad news that we did not receive the previously expected financial aid from UNC, which we were counting on.

We plan on getting to a place as soon as possible where we can again dedicate our full energies to Real Estate (we’re still working some—let us help you buy and sell your homes!), but our ability to focus on anything but Patrick’s health currently remains severely impacted.

This GoFundMe is focused on present and near-future costs, which are estimated between $50k-$70k. Your support will significantly alleviate the financial burdens of treatment, travel, therapies, lost wages, and medications, allowing Patrick to focus on healing.
