As many of you know, my family and I, in 2018, were faced with a situation where my niece needed to be placed in a home. We knew right then and there that we could not allow her to become a number in the already bad system. So, we made the decision that she needed to be placed in our care. Through the years, we have been in and out of the courts fighting to make sure that she remains where she is happy, thriving, and healthy. And this is where she wants to be.
The past few years, I have racked up many lawyer's fees trying to make sure that she will remain where she is. During this time, my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and he lost his job, not being able to work. While we have made ends meet, he was the breadwinner. This has placed the fees and other life things on my plate. While I work 7 days a week to meet the expectations of life and to provide for our family, I have been faced with a very large bill. I am not one to come out and ask for help unless it is from my closest family. And they have been there and have helped in all ways that they are able to do so. I have come here to ask for help from you. Any help that anyone can provide, I am forever grateful for. I know that the decision that we made 7 years ago was the right decision. And I know that she is where she belongs and is thriving in life. All my closest friends who know our story know it well.
