Aid Our Family During His Recovery
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My youngest brother just graduated from high school and was recently accepted into Cal State Fullerton! We’re incredibly proud of him — not just for his academic achievements, but for everything he’s overcome to get here.
He was born with a severe case of congenital scoliosis, with a 70-degree curvature in his spine. From ages 1 to 5, he had to wear a full body cast and undergo numerous procedures in an effort to slow the progression. The casting helped reduce his curvature to 54 degrees, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the need for major surgery in adulthood.
We’ve always known he would eventually need spinal fusion surgery — a complex procedure that can only be performed once the spine has stopped growing, usually around age 18. That time is now. Just as he’s preparing to start college, he will be undergoing an 8-hour spinal fusion surgery.
Despite his condition, my brother never let it hold him back. He played varsity tennis all four years of high school, started his own business, and was accepted into three universities. He’s truly remarkable.
After his surgery, he will need full-time care for 5–6 weeks. Our mom will have to take unpaid time off work to care for him during his recovery. We are humbly asking for any support to help cover the costs of:
• Transportation to and from the hospital
• Medical supplies and equipment
• Meals and daily essentials
• Temporary loss of income during his recovery
Any donation, big or small, will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page would mean the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you, and God bless.
